If storing the cake before your event, be sure to keep it in the fridge (not freezer).
If transporting the cake to your venue, cake should be placed on the floor as flat as possible (not at a slant, not on the seat). Car should be kept as cold as possible during transportation. If transporting for longer than 3 hours, it is recommended to keep the cake in a cooler with ice.
Driver should drive slow and take turns very carefully. Lovebug Cake Co. cannot be held liable for any damages to the cake during transportation of the cake by the client.
At the event venue, cake should not be placed anywhere in direct sunlight or heat (e.g. by a bright window, by a fireplace, outside in sunlight). If you're wedding is being held outside, you MUST provide shade for the cake, and refrigeration prior to event start is HIGHLY recommended!
Be sure to test a table or cake stand's ability to bear weight before placing the cake on it! Make sure your table is not wobbly (a common problem. Rotating the table can sometimes help the legs get a more even stance, or just moving to a floor space that's more even. This should be done before the cake is placed on table.)
Cake should also not be placed in areas of high traffic, in front of a stereo with strong vibrations, or other types of movement that could cause damage to the cake.
When cutting tiered or tall cakes, be aware that there are 5-7 structural wooden dowels or plastic straws in each tier of the cake, found in the center as well as inserted in a circle around the edge of each tier. These will need to be removed as the cake is being sliced for service.
All items delivered with the cake (dowels, cake plate, toppers) are intended to be kept by the client, so no need to return any items!
Lovebug Cake Co. is not responsible for any damages to your items after pick up or delivery.
